Summer holidays!!! Finally... Year 1 at my new school is over and I managed to survive (both physically and emotionally) seemingly endless months of war in the class room, cybermobbing and other "difficulties". But I also got to know and to appreciate my new colleagues and the other courses I taught.
But now has come the time to treat myself to the best kind of "therapy" there is - travelling the world. Or better, travelling Colombia, Panama and Florida. Which is why this year´s "expedition" is called "Las Tres Américas", as it will take me to all three parts of the American continent.
My first port-of-call will be Colombia. As it´s my fourth visit to this gorgeous country, I´ll turn my time there into a "Best of Colombia" trip: Medellín and surroundings, whale-watching and jungle feeling at the Pacific, mountains in the coffee triangle, tropical heat and Salsa rhythms in Cali, Caribbean flair in Cartagena and Mompós and cooling down in Bogota.
A short flight will then take me to Panama. No, I´m NOT going there to visit my (non-existing) letterbox companies (somehow I wish I did...) but from what I´ve heard Panama City must be an exciting place to visit and then there is that canal, of course... But the main reason is a three-day get-away to a tiny Caribbean island called Yanidup. Supposedly perfect Bacardi-commercialesque. Can´t wait!
Then finally Florida - my rented convertible and I plan to cruise the southern tip of the Sunshine State: Miami Beach - the Everglades (mosquitoes permitting), Keys and Fort Lauderdale (breaking off the drive at the occasional mall).
